Everything is possible in America if one wishes to work hard at it. Although working hard does make a better living, studies show that working too hard like many Americans do, it can cause major health problems (
Krugman). Americans work the hardest and the most hours out of all first world wealthy countries (
Jung). Our German cousins especially out of every other country in Europe, shows America that working less can actually lead to better productivity and a happier family living too (
Jung). But the main concern here is the health toll that Americans take for working too many hours, there is not enough recovery time for people. Americans are always on the run 24/7 365 a year, Americans aren't getting enough sleep to recover and get rest. That's why Americans are suffering from terrible health problems from overworking.

These readings were especially alarming for me. They definitely encouraged me to take as much vacation time as possible when i finally get that steady job.
