Captain's Readings

So it is no surprise that this week's readings are like a slap to the face. "Too-Busy Teens Feel Health Tool" and "Our Students Need More Sleep." I mean as if I already don't know that I don't get enough asleep, now experts are saying that my health is in jeopardy.
The CDC says insufficient sleep is “a substantial public health concern" (Daily Messenger).  Schools are demanding more and more from their students as years go by. More homework, more courses, and more extracurricular activities. Students are over scheduled these days with different things that they do and it is putting more stress and more work toll on students (Boodman). This should be concern to everyone, our lives and our health sometimes can be improved by just getting more hours of sleep, and I for one should defiantly take these experts advise to get more sleep.

  1. The amount of extracurricular activities and school work has definitely been piling up over my head and is very stressful. Maybe being a bit more organized on when to do certain tasks could help with decreasing the amount of stress we endure.
